Organic Kumamoto Kikuchi Sencha Tea is a purely organically grown tea that grows naturally and is particularly popular with health-conscious people. The tea gardens of the KUMAMOTO-KIKUCHI-SENCHA-TEA BIO are 300 to 500 meters above sea level in the mountains northeast of Aso Gairinsan, the Aso volcano. The gardens cover an area of 179 hectares - in the midst of unspoiled nature.

The Kikuchi Valley

The Kikuchi Valley which the water of the Kikuchi River flows through, is densely covered by deciduous trees and together with the meandering river course and the hilly landscapes, forms a wonderful idyll.

The ORGANIC KUMAMOTO-KIKUCHI-SENCHA-TEA is made with fresh spring water from the “KIKUCHI” spring in Kumamoto, Kyushu. That is why the locals call this tea "KIKUCHI SUIGEN" ("Kikuchi water source") in Japanese.

It is characterised by its sweet, round taste and its refreshing aroma, of which people in this region are particularly proud. The unique taste is the result of frequent weather and temperature fluctuations and the foggy days typical of this region.

Before pouring:

Shape of leaves: tapered at the ends, needle-shaped; a robust, almost steely appearance
Color: a strong, dark green
Fragrance: a gentle woody scent, a faintly perceptible scent of Japanese calligraphy ink

After pouring:

Color: the light-green, slightly subdued color of young ricegrass
Fragrance: delicate and reserved, reminiscent of the maritime scent of spring-fresh Wakame
